PROTOTYPING CHECKLIST
We've created this checklist to ensure that you're ready for the first steps of prototyping.
Have a Non-Disclosure Agreement!
You need to protect your intellectual property! There are many sites that provide free NDA’s. NDA’s For Free is a great example.
Have a sketch or drawing with measurements!
Have a sketch or drawing with measurements preferably in millimeters over inches. The benefit of millimeters it that it allows you to be exact with the dimensions of your design, and consequently with the accuracy of your final prototype.
Research regulations and laws!
Make sure you’ve researched all the regulations and laws regarding the production or end-use of your idea. Nothing is worse than spending money and time designing something that you won’t be able to sell because it doesn’t meet the country’s laws or regulations.
Know the file format required for manufacturing!
If you plan on mass-producing your idea, make sure you’ve contacted a manufacturer and know what type of files are required for production. This will ensure we can provide exactly what you need.
